Bernie Sanders appeared on The Viewtoday (he arrived on set after a meeting with Al Sharpton) to converse with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and the gang in front of an excited studio audience. The Viewhosts’ questions, though friendly, covered substantive topics, which created the unusual scene of a daytime talk show crowd going nuts for a guy talking about poverty and Scandinavian education policy. (Sanders also tried his eponymous Ben & Jerry’s flavor and shot a few baskets.) Watch the highlights above.
